Winter Wonderland Pics

We still can't believe we have snow....our ground, car, house, even garbage can is covered with snow! The kids were so excited that I picked them up early. Once I got there to pick them up I found out they were closing school early so I was glad I got there to beat the rush. I barely got everyone's snow gear, oh yeah we live in MS and don't have any snow gear, before they were out the door and in the snow. Brady and Hudson loved the snow, Ella wasn't so sure about it. By the time we got out to play there was a little sleet mixed in with the snow and she just didn't care for that so much. The boys took of to play with the kiddos behind us but were back home within 15 minutes. Brady was completely wet, you know our MS snow gear consisted of old tennis shoes which are NOT water friendly. The other two had rain boots, but unfortunately Brady had outgrown his rainboots. Maybe I'll invest in some snow gear so we'll be better prepared for our next snow.....it will probably occur sometime in the next 5 years!!

Winter Wonderland!

It's SNOWING!!! And I mean SNOWING!! I don't have any pics yet because I'm trying to charge the camcorder batteries and camera batteries. I'm leaving in just a few minutes to pick the kids of from preschool a little early and then we're coming home to play in the snow.....check back later for some pics from a Mississippi Snow!!

Cold Feet

So Hudson and and the little girl next door have become the best of friends....sometimes it's even safe to say she is his "girlfriend". One day he tells her they're getting married and they are off playing "wedding." Two hours later he's breaking up with her and moving on to the older girl next door. (Such a typical male!) Well, this particular night things were going pretty good so I think they decided to go ahead and get married. By the time the lovely Bride was all dressed and ready for her special day I guess Hudson had changed his mind. He was on the floor playing and not a bit concerned that she was looking so lovely in her wedding attire. I think this really annoyed her as her response was, "Get Up! You need to marry me!"
Hudson continued to play and I'm sad to say the wedding did not go on as planned! I just love these two....they're so much fun to watch!!

Giving Thanks

Once again I'm just a little behind a posting. I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday....don't get me wrong I love Christmas, but there's just something I love about Thanksgiving. I think it's the joy of being with loved ones and just the simplicity of that....the pure company of our family and friends and no "hoopla" to go with it. I have so much to be thankful for today and everyday. God has definitely bestowed his blessings upon me and my family and for that I am most grateful.
This year I hosted Thanksgiving at my house. The day before Thanksgiving I starting stressing just a slight little bit and thought what in the world was I thinking volunteering to have Thanksgiving at my house....I must have been completely insane. But when I woke up Thursday morning I was very excited. It seemed like noon just couldn't get here fast enough. Before I can take all the credit, I must inform you that by hosting I meant I allowed my home to be the place of gathering and fellowship. I, by no means, prepared the entire meal. I did contribute somewhat....I made the black eyed peas (fresh...not canned or frozen...you're suppose to be impressed), macaroni & cheese, and two desserts. A many, many thanks to my sweet mom, mother-in-law, sister, and sister-in-law for contributing to our wonderful Thanksgiving feast. The food was delicious and the day was lots of fun. There was no other way to end such a perfect Thanksgiving meal with nothing other than a little Rock Band fun. Yes, that's right after our plates were empty and our bellies full, we pulled out the Wii for a little rock-n-roll revolution. I must admit that while no one is knocking down our doors to sign us up for the next American Idol or Who Wants to Be a Rock Star, my brother can rock out the guitar, my hubby & oldest son aren't so shabby on the drums, and my sister, by far, has the best voice in the family. I didn't even think to pull out my camera until we were all just about done for the day, but I did manage to get a few picks of my mom rocking it out on the guitar....she's probably going to kill me for this!

I guess I can say that I'm thankful for a family that loves one another and most of all loves to have fun together!!

More Wedding Pics

My brother and Jennifer just celebrated their one month anniversary and I'm just now getting all my pictures from the wedding downloaded to my computer. I have some great ones of the boys, but unfortunately have very few good ones of Ella.....keep in mind she's two and the wedding was at 6:00. She had about a 45 minute nap both the day before and the day of the wedding so I'm sure you can imagine how fun and cooperative she was!!! Even though she wouldn't walk down the aisle, I must say she was the cutest darn flower girl I've ever seen.....No, I'm not partial or anything, but hey it's my blog and my little girl so I'm entitled, right!! The boys did great! They were such handsome little dudes!! Brady was so proud to usher his mom down the aisle....he grinned from ear to ear and made sure he held his arm just right. He also thought he was "all grown up" escorting guests to their seats...he was so handsome and made me so proud! As far as Hudson goes, well he was the most precious ring bearer EVER!!! I'm not kidding ask anyone there and they will tell you he was a CUTIE!! Don't believe me?? Check out the pictures below....I think they pretty much speak for themselves!

Trick-or-Treat

Okay, so I'm a little behind posting but honestly I've been too tired to post lately. Actually, I had strep throat last Thursday & Friday. I managed to drive myself to the doctor last Friday and was diagnosed with a "severe & ugly" case of strep....those were the docs terms, not mine. Thanks to the shot of rocephin, celstone, & one other drug I was feeling much better Friday afternoon. Even though I was feeling better and functioning again, my energy level was nonexistant. Finally, I think I'm back to "normal".....whatever that might be!

Even though I felt horrible....I was not about to miss out on trick-or-treating with these cuties !!

Since our area trick-or-treated on Thursday my neighbors decided to have a Halloween Party for the kids on Friday. We thought it would be fun for the kids to have something to do on Halloween plus it would give them one more chance to wear their costumes. My friend Racheal came up with some great games for the kids to play. They had a blast.....I think they enjoyed the party just as much as halloween. There was good fun, good food, and good times had by all....I just wish I would have been feeling a little better.

Hudson's Birthday Party

Hudson's 4th birthday was last Wednesday (10/22) and we celebrated this past Sunday with a party at our house. The weather was absolutely beautiful.....actually it was very warm.....more like May instead of October. The warm weather explains why my child, and a few others, ran around most of the party without his shirt on.....welcome to mississippi....maybe we should change the title to "My redneck birthday party." I 'm pretty sure that everyone had a great time at the party. The kids loved playing on the inflatable slide and bouncer and the adults enjoyed some "hangin' out" time. Hudson was too funny. He was not waiting to open presents so as the guests arrived he greeted them and took their gift and opened right there. Yes, I do try to teach my children manners but come on he's only 4 and you know at that age the only thing on their mind is the gift. I don't think anyone was offended.....it was actually pretty cute. I'm being lazy and instead of sorting through all the pics and uploading my favorites I'm just creating a slideshow of the entire party. Hope you enjoy!!

Happy Birthday Hudson!

Has it really been four years?? I cannot believe Hudson celebrated his 4th birthday yesterday. He's just growing up way too fast. Even though he's left the toddler stage and quickly approaching the "big boy" era, he never ceases to make us laugh. He's so full of personality. Andy and I are so blessed with the joy, laughter, and love he brings to our family. He's such a happy, fun, and easy to love child!! The kids were out of school yesterday for parent/teacher conferences so my sister and I took advantage of the beautiful weather and suprised our kids with a trip to the Ag Museum. What a beautiful day and great way to celebrate Hudson's 4th birthday!! His party is this weekend so I'll post those pics later. Happy Birthday Hudson!! We love you!!!

The birthday boy.....isn't he just so darn cute!
